Yes, Flower Print in Fall

Fall Fashion

That’s right, I am wearing a flower print dress in the fall and it’s completely okay. I can totally get away with wearing this print even in the fall. Why? Because it’s a more subdued flower print and it’s navy blue, which is my saving grace. And, at the time, this photo was taken when it was still beautiful and warm outside. Another trick to getting away with wearing a flower print dress in the fall is adding classic fall colours and accessories. So, I decided to wear this dress with a navy blue blazer, black tights, and brown oxford shoes (love!), belt and bag. Ooh, I need to talk about this bag that I found on the Naturalizer website! I had been lusting after a bag that looks exactly like this one on the Nordstrom website. But with all the duties and taxes, and blah, blah, blah, it would’ve came to a whopping $145!! Yeah, I don’t think so. And this Naturalizer bag was only $30, including shipping. Can you believe it?? This tote bag is also reversible, just like the Nordstrom look alike. It’s pretty much exactly the same. A tote bag is an absolute necessity for all women. I can stuff so much in this bag. My whole life is in it. It is also comfortable to wear, and would be the perfect carry-on bag for travelling too!

Where to Shop for Kitten Heels

Where to Shop for Kitten Heels

I do a ton of walking. I walk pretty much everywhere. To and from work, out to meet friends, to the grocery store, to the mall, or just simply to walk. Because of my lifestyle I need to be able to walk in comfort and style. It can be difficult to find stylish, comfortable shoes to walk in. High heels are definitely out, so kitten heels are one of the best options. I did a little bit of research on where to shop for kitten heels, and this is what I found.

Red Fever

Fall Outfit

This is my newest purchase that I am absolutely in love with! I definitely have red fever. I have always wanted a shorter fall wool peacoat in a bright colour because we all know how dreary the fall can be sometimes. It helps to wear a splash of colour. I had a red wool peacoat almost like this one when I lived in England from H&M, but it didn’t last long. Think it shrunk, sadly. But I found this one at Sears online, yes Sears! It was also on sale for $50! You can’t beat that price. This red wool peacoat is incredibly warm, which is fantastic. I don’t even have to wear layers underneath because it’s so warm.

Shopping Habits

Style Confessions

Should you buy a top or skirt when you have nothing to wear it with?

We all know that this issue is not only limited to a top or a skirt. It could be basically anything. So, what do you do when you see something in a store that you absolutely love, but you can’t think of a thing to wear it with? What I usually do when I go shopping and I see something I like, I mentally catalogue what’s in my wardrobe and “take out” the things I can wear it with. If I can’t “see” anything that I can wear it with, I don’t buy it. Why? Because I am less likely to wear it, it will just sit there in my closet with nowhere to go. Choosing items simply because you “like them” is probably not the best idea. If you want the best bang for your buck and the most wear out of your clothes, choose carefully when you go shopping.

The Best Fall Staple

The Best Fall Staple

I have talked about fall staples before and I think they are important enough to talk about again. Fall is fast approaching and when the seasons change, it’s better to have your wardrobe prepared with fall staples. The last thing you want to do is head out into the chilly weather without what you need to keep warm. So, let’s talk a little bit about the best fall staple that every woman should own, which is the blazer.

Pink in Fall and Winter

Style Confessions: Pink in Fall and Winter

Can you wear pink in fall and winter?

Lately, I’ve been wondering if I could get away with wearing pink in fall and winter. Just to clarify, I am talking about pretty much all shades of pink. I have a few items of pink in my wardrobe and thought it would be a bit sad if I had to wait until the spring to wear them. But I did a bit of research and it looks like pink is an acceptable colour to wear in both the fall and winter months. The trick is knowing what to wear with it. Style your pink top, blazer, sweater or cardigan with other fall colours such as black or grey. Also, add “rougher” elements such as leather or wear it with a scarf and boots.
