I have talked about fall staples before and I think they are important enough to talk about again. Fall is fast approaching and when the seasons change, it’s better to have your wardrobe prepared with fall staples. The last thing you want to do is head out into the chilly weather without what you need to keep warm. So, let’s talk a little bit about the best fall staple that every woman should own, which is the blazer.
This is the second blazer outfit that I have put together. In contrast to the previous outfit, this one is a lot more casual. It’s the perfect outfit to wear on casual Fridays or for more casual, low-key outings like coffee dates on the weekends. I love this pink blazer, which I also wore here. It adds such a great pop of colour to any outfit. I usually wear it when I need a little wardrobe pick-me-up. I paired it with this grey shirt and jeans. Pink and grey always look so good together.
Sometimes dressing for work can be a bit mundane and boring, especially if you have a dress code at work. The work blazer and pants outfit is a regular go-to when getting dressed in the mornings for work, but it doesn’t have to be boring. Find a striped work blazer like the one above, or find one in a pattern that you like such as polka-dots or houndstooth. To see another work outfit with the same blazer, see here. Swap your white button down shirt for one in a bright, happy colour like pink, red or blue. For an extra pop of colour, select a belt that complements the colour of your shirt. Throw on your trusty pair of black pants and a cute pair of flats and what have you got? A work outfit that is far from boring or mundane. So work it, ladies!
The holiday and winter season are the most popular times to travel. We want to get away from the snow and get some much-needed sun on a beach in a hot destination. You may already know what you’ll be packing and bringing with you, if not, read this blog post: 15 Items to Pack When You Travel. In my book, the trickiest part when you travel is deciding what to wear on the plane. I have been either way too hot or uncomfortably cold on the plane and have never worn the right outfit on a plane. So I have done a little research to figure out what works! For all of you who have struggled with choosing what to wear on a plane, this blog post is for you.
This is an outfit that I wear to work. Even though it’s winter, I still like to wear colour and fun prints. Don’t be afraid to punch up your outfits with bright colours during the winter! I did a little colour blocking with this fuchsia button down shirt and cobalt blazer, and to add some interest and an element of surprise I paired it with these flower print tights that I am absolutely, madly in love with. They are so warm and comfortable! Winter work outfits don’t have to be boring. Have fun with your wardrobe and experiment!
I perceive layering as a type of fine-tuned skill that takes a little bit of practice, but once you grab the hang of it you’ll be so glad that you paid attention and learned the how-tos. Layering is how I stay warm, yet stylish in the fall and winter. The best part about layering is that you can put on or take off any layer you choose if you get cold or a bit too hot. I am always cold (yes, even in the summer) and it doesn’t help living in a frigid climate so I always layer. So here is what you need to know how to layer.
