That’s right, I am wearing a flower print dress in the fall and it’s completely okay. I can totally get away with wearing this print even in the fall. Why? Because it’s a more subdued flower print and it’s navy blue, which is my saving grace. And, at the time, this photo was taken when it was still beautiful and warm outside. Another trick to getting away with wearing a flower print dress in the fall is adding classic fall colours and accessories. So, I decided to wear this dress with a navy blue blazer, black tights, and brown oxford shoes (love!), belt and bag. Ooh, I need to talk about this bag that I found on the Naturalizer website! I had been lusting after a bag that looks exactly like this one on the Nordstrom website. But with all the duties and taxes, and blah, blah, blah, it would’ve came to a whopping $145!! Yeah, I don’t think so. And this Naturalizer bag was only $30, including shipping. Can you believe it?? This tote bag is also reversible, just like the Nordstrom look alike. It’s pretty much exactly the same. A tote bag is an absolute necessity for all women. I can stuff so much in this bag. My whole life is in it. It is also comfortable to wear, and would be the perfect carry-on bag for travelling too!
This is my newest purchase that I am absolutely in love with! I definitely have red fever. I have always wanted a shorter fall wool peacoat in a bright colour because we all know how dreary the fall can be sometimes. It helps to wear a splash of colour. I had a red wool peacoat almost like this one when I lived in England from H&M, but it didn’t last long. Think it shrunk, sadly. But I found this one at Sears online, yes Sears! It was also on sale for $50! You can’t beat that price. This red wool peacoat is incredibly warm, which is fantastic. I don’t even have to wear layers underneath because it’s so warm.
Can you wear pink in fall and winter?
Lately, I’ve been wondering if I could get away with wearing pink in fall and winter. Just to clarify, I am talking about pretty much all shades of pink. I have a few items of pink in my wardrobe and thought it would be a bit sad if I had to wait until the spring to wear them. But I did a bit of research and it looks like pink is an acceptable colour to wear in both the fall and winter months. The trick is knowing what to wear with it. Style your pink top, blazer, sweater or cardigan with other fall colours such as black or grey. Also, add “rougher” elements such as leather or wear it with a scarf and boots.
In the spirit of fall, I recently purchased a pair of brown oxford lace-up shoes. I’ve always wanted a pair, but never got around to buying a pair. Finally, I did! They are a great alternative to flats and booties, and they go with a variety of different outfits, which makes them extremely versatile. Plus, they can be dressed up and down, and can be worn to the office and to more casual outings and events as well. I will include the pair of oxford lace-up shoes that I bought at SoftMoc in point #1 and #3 in this post. The best part is that I accumulated enough “dollars” on my account there that I only paid $20 for them! Now, let’s look at the the 3 ways to wear oxford shoes.
In the spirit of the back-to-school season, I’ve decided to write a post about leather backpacks. Why leather, in particular, you may be asking? Leather is the most durable and will last the longest. It’s also the best option if you want to get more bang for your buck, have a busy lifestyle or have a ton of heavy textbooks to carry. Additionally, leather backpacks are chic, stylish, and will never go out of style. They are suitable for students, professionals, or simply for a busy woman on-the-go.
Would you wear tights with peep toe shoes?
In preparation for fall, I’ve been thinking about what types of spring/summer shoes that I can wear during the new season. So, I have been doing some research on the opinions that fashionistas and fashion gurus had about this topic. But I found out that the views were mixed. Some said that you can wear tights with peep toe shoes as long as the toes aren’t reinforced. Others said that you should never wear them together – it’s a fashion don’t. But, what do I think? Although, I have never worn tights with peep toe shoes, this summer season I purchased a pair and I was wondering if I could pull it off. I think I would try wearing black opaque tights (sheer would look too weird) with my black peep toe shoes. Or, I could see how grey or red tights would look. I am thinking that the contrast would be eye-catching.
I can’t believe it’s already fall again! We’ve had a very wet summer with a lot of rainy and cloudy days here in Edmonton, so it’s going to a bit more difficult to welcome fall. But, as you know, the best part about fall are the clothes. I love the layers, colours, boots, shoes, and scarves. So, this season I have decided to make a wish list about the fall items from SheIn. Click on the numbered links below this fall wishlist for more details on each item.
